Thanks for the update, [~DanielZhou]. Assuming this is not something that will
be changing soon, I've filed IMPALA-7860 to just have the relevant Impala tests
use a different partition name. It's really just a coincidence that they hit
this - I don't think there's any particular need for partitions to end with a
period.
