David Somers-Harris commented on HADOOP-11890:
----------------------------------------------
{quote}We had an informal discussion of the state of this feature with FB HBase
team, including Gary Helmling and Mikhail Antonov, who merged this branch
internally and run production HBase clusters on top of it with IPv6 on.
{quote}
Is anybody still using this branch in production?
{quote}What is important is that keeping the branch out of trunk is guaranteed
to not find any problems, instead just keep a branch which will slowly decay,
and block downstream apps from attempting to add IPv6 support
{quote}
Since it's been 2-3 years since the last comment and commit (as far as I can
tell), has the status for remaining tasks until merging into trunk change? I
got the impression it was just documentation left to go
{quote}1. The documentation update to incorporate IPv6 cluster setup. See
HADOOP-13902.
2. And the test plan document, so that people could independently test
according to the plan.
{quote}
But is that still the case?

> Hadoop currently treats IPv6 as unsupported. Track related smaller issues to
> support IPv6.
> (Current case here is mainly HBase on HDFS, so any suggestions about other
> test cases/workload are really appreciated.)
