*Good*: HADOOP-14556 uses hamcrest assertThat() for declaring assertions
*Bad*: this new hamcrest-library declaration is scoped for compile, not test,
so becomes a transitive dependency. Needs fixing before a release to keep the
cruft out of downstream apps.
