Masatake Iwasaki commented on HADOOP-16261:
-------------------------------------------
Metrics system emits logs if you use S3A on console.

$ bin/hadoop fs -test -e s3a://iwasakims-test/

period at 10 second(s).

metrics system...

Since those logs are useful for debugging metrics systems only, it could be
suppressed by log4j.properties. Changing log levels to debug in the code is
option. Changing log4j.properties affects daemons using metrics system. I could
not find a tweak to change package log level for console logger only.
Target should be trunk (and branch-2?) because [Admin compatibility
guide|https://hadoop.apache.org/docs/r3.2.0/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/AdminCompatibilityGuide.html#Parsing_Hadoop_Output]
states that "Hadoop log output is not expected to change with a maintenance
release unless it resolves a correctness issue."
