I've seen the ITestDirectoryCommitMRJob failure before. I [noted](https://github.com/apache/hadoop/pull/666#issuecomment-487809016) it on my PR for HADOOP-16221. It looks to me like you logged the issue as [HADOOP-16207](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-16207) back on March 26. The only change I worked on that got in before that was for HADOOP-15625. I suppose it is possible that it is somehow related to that. I can try a run from the commit just prior to that. I'll also have a closer look at that test to see if I can deduce what might be going wrong.
