We haven't made any 2.8.x releases for more than a year (last one in May 2018).
I thought we had abandoned this release line, but during the last meetup it
sounds like most community folks are still on 2.8 or even 2.7.
So I feel like we probably need at least one more 2.8 release. Thoughts?
