trying to run the abfs tests on branch-3.2; mkdirs calls are failing with a
storage exception about unknown container...one which is being wrapped by too
many layers.
As well as identifying the cause for the test failure, it might be good for the
abfs exception handling code to look in NoSuchElementException exceptions and
pull out any StorageException cause
