Thanx [~vinayakumarb] for the details. Unless and until the compat guidelines
doesn't blocks us from going ahead. The option #1 seems a better approach to me.
Anyway if we go by the words in the compat, it allows changes in minor releases
to the ones marked evolving. Technically, this shouldn't violate the
compatibility guidelines.
