Here's what I think. Discussion about contrib/tools is happening on common-dev.
While that reaches some conclusion, we can use this ticket to just mavenize the
MR1 src and test jars.
In a way, I am rooting for the v1 patch and script set. The v1 set applies
cleanly, but I found some issues with compilation of contrib etc. If everybody
agrees to just taking care of MR1 src and test jars here, we can work towards
getting v1 patches in. What does everyone think about this?
