Oh, ,this is good.
The addition of two deprecated items is triggering a reload of all the default
configurations, hence the per-bucket setting is reapplying.
Yes, the committer patch really has broken a completely unrelated patch. What a
PITA.
I'll need to think better about how to fix this, because an immediate
workaround "remove the deprecations" will only come back
