I think I understand what is going on. I am trying to apply the [patch-diff
generated by
github|https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/apache/hadoop/pull/3309.patch]
to current trunk. But since you were occasionally merging trunk into your
branch, rather than rebasing it, different patches were applied to different
historical states of trunk, which conflict with the current state.
A better way is to rebase your branch on trunk before each commit and avoid
merge commits.
[~snvijaya], also wanted to ask you to post some benchmark data for expected
improvements in IO performance using native Azure protocols. As a motivation
for such a large new feature.
