for anyone wondering the steps it was
* delete the existing feature-HADOOP-18028-s3a-prefetch branch
* add ahmar's repo to my hadoop source tree
* check out the rebase branch, as feature-HADOOP-18028-s3a-prefetch
* set apache as the upstream repo git branch -u
apache/feature-HADOOP-18028-s3a-prefetch
* git push --force
there's probably a way to do it with reference pushing it, but step-by-step
seems to work.
