Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-18600:
-----------------------------------------

no. you want s3a features written in the past five years, you get to upgrade to
a modern version.

* the s3a code has evolved so much that even backporting stuff from 3.3.5 to
3.2 is nearly impossible
* backporting a feature is declaring a commitment to maintain/support

finally, branch-2 is getting nothing but those critical CVEs which can be
fixed. no features

> Hadoop 2.x should support s3a

> I think the feature about "Add S3A committers for zero-rename commits to S3
> endpoints" (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-13786)  should be 蜜珀
> in the merged in hadoop 2.10.2.
