* the yetus test failures seem to be memory related
* I've been having real trouble getting CI runs ro run to completion for PRs
recently - this one is easier since yetus seems to run a shorter profile when
only the common code has changed
* the spotbugs issue is in the KMS code and this PR makes no KMS changes
