Robert Joseph Evans commented on HADOOP-8477:
---------------------------------------------
Yes splitting it up does seem logical to me especially the parts that only
cover a single subproject like HDFS. However, a lot of the tutorial spans all
of Hadoop covering both HDFS and Map/Reduce or just general things like how to
use an existing VM image. Also if you look at a lot of the current
documentation it is under yarn, even things that should be moved out like
WebHDFS, HDFS Federation, and HDFSHighAvailability, also things that arguably
should either be for the entire project so split up into sub pages like
ClusterSetup. It looks like we need to reorganize the documentation a bit.
That being said I don't really want to prevent the tutorial from going in just
because we cannot decide on the perfect place to put it. I would rather see it
go in to a not so ideal place, and then we can worry about splitting it up
later when the rest of the documentation gets the same treatment.
> Pull in Yahoo! Hadoop Tutorial and update it accordingly.

> I was able to get the Yahoo! Hadoop tutorial released under an Apache 2.0
> license. This allows us to make it a official part of the Hadoop Project.
> This ticket is to pull the tutorial and update it as needed.
