I agree with Allen. We should minimize scripting. I fear that Python would
encourage more scripting when what we need is less. Scripts should be limited
to things that cannot be done in Java. Parallel versions (bash & bat) of a few
simple scripts may be a necessary evil if Cygwin is unacceptable.
