Hi Chris,
Running the install first works for me. It's not an ideal solution, but I
guess we can live with it, as long as it's documented. Hopefully future
versions of Maven will offer some way out of this chicken and egg problem with
bundled Maven plugins.
Now that we have a place to put Maven plugins, I guess it's time to reopen
HADOOP-8887.
By the way, thanks for doing this work.
