We agreed that guessing wasn't going to be implemented. There's no penalty for
token auth because of my other optimization. Kerberos takes a tiny penalty but
it's necessary to support subsequent IP failover changes.
My existing SASL unit tests exercise the full matrix of client and server
auths, both with and without tokens. Writing tests all the way down to the
wire is going to further delay this patch. I think Arun is pretty eager to get
this in. If we want wire tests, then I think we should defer to another jira
and get 2.1 unblocked.
