Jing Zhao commented on HADOOP-10995:
------------------------------------

bq. such that we need to add the dependency for the timeline server sub-module,
making it depend on hbase 0.9x (actually in the patch we use 0.98). However,
hbase 0.9x releases were built against Hadoop branch-2.

Does that mean hadoop trunk will then have dependency on hbase and even hadoop
branch-2? Not quite sure how that will work...

> HBase cannot run correctly with Hadoop trunk

> Several incompatible changes that happened on trunk but not on branch-2 have
> broken the compatibility for HBbase:
> HADOOP-10348
> HADOOP-8124
> HADOOP-10255
> In general, HttpServer is and Syncable.sync have been missed.
> It blocks YARN-2032, which makes timeline sever support HBase store.
