Kai Zheng commented on HADOOP-11744:
------------------------------------

Hi [~wheat9],

I have to mention that to support OAuth2 work flow we need first a basic way to
support general token for Hadoop, which was in fact already extensively
discussed in HADOOP-9392 ({{TokenAuth}}) and HADOOP-10959 ({{TokenPreauth}}).
In the two JIRAs OAuth2 was discussed as an important use case and motivation.
I'm wondering if you could take some time looking at the discussions there and
reading the docs attached there as well. Please note we invested much in this
effort and we're still working on that. For {{TokenAuth}} ADOOP-9392 along with
its sub-tasks we actually had workable codes and some patches were attached;
For {{TokenPreauth}} HADOOP-10959 we're thinking about another approach to
support token based on Kerberos to complement TokenAuth, for that we're even
preparing [Apache Kerby|https://github.com/apache/directory-kerby] with
ApacheDS community.

We're happy you're also interested in supporting the use case, and we would be
glad to collaborate with you in the page. Please kindly let me know what you
would think given your learning about our existing effort, and see if it works
or not to link this as one sub-task of HADOOP-9392. Thanks !

> OAuth2 is a standardize mechanism for authentication and authorization. A
> notable use case of OAuth2 is SSO -- it would be nice to integrate OAuth2
> with Hadoop.
