Dave Marion updated HADOOP-12357:
---------------------------------
    Attachment: HADOOP-12357.001.patch

[~raviprak] Noticed that you are watching this and were involved with the
previous work on the GraphiteSink. I was wondering if you could give me some
feedback on this patch before I start working on backporting it. I noticed that
the associated test does not actually test the connection as it is mocked. Any
thoughts on if the test needs to be changed also?

> The statsd plugin within CollectD listens on a UDP socket. In trying to set
> this up, I keep getting a connection refused error, and I think the issue is
> that the current implementation of GraphiteSink only uses a TCP socket.
