hello, I want to use standard compression algorithms for data compression. This would be possible by writing a code supporting map reduce. Also, there is an utility or a class in hadoop api, that simply zips the data or files while emitting keys-values pairs. But, How much does it help? It won;t compress to much extent-I guess.
How to proceed with map reduce and compression, which algorithms to be supported, and things like that. Please reply as per. -- Regards! Sugandha
