Core Analytics Engineer (End-User Experience)
Description
Knoa, located in Union Square, NYC, develops software to collect and
analyze end-user information in the enterprise. Knoa metrics have been
used in many industries, including many Fortune 50 companies. Knoa
software is a starting point to address problems, best practices, and
trends in infrastructure, individual, and organizational behavior. To
drive insight from collected end-user information, Knoa's analysis
process models the information to identify norms and outliers, establish
causality, and classify points of improvement.
Knoa seeks a Core Analytics Engineer to research and to apply innovative
methods to better understand the end-user experience. This person will
be an integral part of a small, analytics-focused team that utilizes a
diverse set of mathematic/statistics tools, distributed processing
frameworks, and visualization technologies.
This position requires the ability to look at Knoa's information from
the perspective of human users, to pose and answer questions that lead
to greater insight. This person should be able to generalize the insight
into an algorithm, which will run on large amounts of data to feed
custom visualizations and business oriented reports. This person will be
expected take ownership and communicate the business value of his or her
analysis from conceptualization to product.
This person should be familiar with or willing to dive into statistics,
machine learning, or visual design for succinct presentations of
information. Strong programming, problem solving, and communication
skills are critical. This person must be both comfortable in an
experimental, creative engineering role and adaptable to the needs of a
product driven company.
Responsibilities
· Develop and take ownership of analytic modules to drive insight
from Knoa information
· Contribute to an evolving distributed infrastructure oriented
towards analyzing Knoa information
· Clearly explain the reasoning and assumptions behind problems and
approaches
Experience & Qualifications
· Proven experience solving large problems
· Very strong development skills (Java experience preferred)
· Experience developing data driven applications
· Experience with distributed processing frameworks a plus
· Experience with computational graphics and visualization a plus
· Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent
