Fu-Ming, While some JMX attributes are self explanatory, most could benefit from a one line long description and a paragraph long description.
Usually your best bet is to grep the hadoop source code for the attribute and try to understand what it is. From the name I just assumed this was a measure like 5 Minute Load in *nix. I have started a JMX walk-through to try and describe them, and what you can use them for monitoring wise but I do not have any information on dfs.fileSystem.TotalLoad yet. (I man need to use a blog like format to get some critical mass on Screenshots and troubleshooting information) http://www.jointhegrid.com/hadoop-cacti-jtg-walk/files_total.jsp Edward On Thu, Dec 24, 2009 at 9:20 AM, Fu-Ming Tsai <[email protected]> wrote: > Dear all, > > I've installed hadoop and use ganglia to monitor in our cluster. > Sometimes I got value dfs.fileSystem.TotalLoad from ganglia is around > 4000. > I don't what it means.
