kill -QUIT

When I try kill -QUIT for a job it doesn't send the stacktrace to the log
files. Does anyone know why or if I am doing something wrong?

I find the job using ps -ef|grep "attempt". I then go to
logs/userLogs/job<id>/attempt<id>/
