If you declare the resources inside your unit test element they should be:
<unitTest>
<includes>
...
</includes>
<resources>
<resource>
<directory>src/test</directory>
<includes>
<include>**/*.properties</include>
</includes>
</resource>
</resources>
</unitTest>
