Thats not true, its sufficient to simply USE the crypto things. See [1] to get an impression of what needs to be done. Especially the part "with links to the applicable source code for each version of each ASF product" let me shudder. Given the (wo)manpower available for VFS currently I am against adding another part which increases the work. Whats wrong with simply adding this plugin to a sourceforge project? If you use the ASF license it's fairly easy to include your extensions the project at any time later.
