I haven't had much chance to look at what was put into the sandbox, and I've only had a small look at werken.opt (and nothing in ritopt or Avalon), but jut to throw more options into the mix, I have a rough command line opt package at:
http://www.acay.com.au/~tpv/java/zoo/packages/getopts-0.1.zip It's only partly tested, fairly rough, has known bugs, etc. etc. But I'm spending most of my time on some C++ projects at the moment, so I haven't had much time to fix it up just now. It's under an Apache/BSD style license, and if anyone wants to rip bits out into commons, I'm happy to assign copyright.
