The DES code did come out of a GPL project and I'm quite surprised, that is not a GPL 
agreement. I'd have to say on my experience that the overal site licence will have to 
hold, the individual file licence is just out of date (Or indeed the source came from 
an external source which wanted the source to be free of restrictions, alas that 
intent has been lost).

The MD4 licence still requires that the licence remain with the source code and binary.

Might be worth getting in contact with the parties and seeing if it can be released 
under the apache licence instead...you never know it might come back positive.
