I agree that there is a potential problem here, but it's not clear to me that 
this patch fully addresses it.

I think a cleanup of the DelegatingXXX stuff is in order, to restore it to 
the "pure proxy" state (i.e., all DelegatingPreparedStatement does is pass all 
calls down to the underlying PreparedStatement, etc.  Let subclasses of 
DelegatingXXX deal with stuff like abandoned object detection, etc.)  With a 
cleaner representation at that level, it may be easier to sort through some of 
these thorny synchronization issues.
