The Jakarta standard is that anything deprecated in a release can be removed 
in the next release.  So 2.1 deprecated items can be removed in 2.2.

I seem to be asking lots of questions to the ether today :)

When are we going to remove the deprecated classes?

Do they go on the next major release? So for things deprecated at 2.1, we
would keep them for 2.2, but remove for 3.0?
