No, it wasn't end-of-life'd. What happened was that the original developer
decided he didn't want to continue to support it by himself at its own web
site. Geir offered to help out, so it's now maintained (?) only at the SF
site. (The '?' is because there isn't evidence of activity there, but then
it's supposedly pretty stable anyway.)
