I can't see anything in > the way. Just a personal preference. I try to avoid doing lots of maven.xml hackery, whereas in Ant it all seems to be hackery. When I'm doing Ant things, I seem to often have CVS bits in there to handle dependencies of dependencies anyway. I agree, entirely possible in Maven.
