As I mentioned on the taglibs-dev list, I am opposed to such a component coming to Jakarta Commons, because it does not fit the charter. Although we already have components here that do not fit the charter, now that there is a better place for such components - namely Apache Commons - I see no justification for continuing to add components that do not match our existing charter.
Don't get me wrong - I think the idea of such a component is great, and will clearly be useful to many people. I just think that Jakarta Commons is the wrong place for it, and would recommend taking it to Apache Commons instead. -- Martin Cooper > -----Original Message----- > From: Abey Mullassery [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, May 06, 2004 4:45 AM > To: Jakarta Commons Developers List > Subject: [New Proposal] An Imaging wrapper package > > > Proposal for Imaging Wrapper Package > > (0) rationale > > Many web and desktop applications need some imaging support.
