There is a public method FTPClient.setRemoteVerificationEnabled() that can be called to change the default value for this variable to false, and thereby disable the verification. But this code has been stable for many years without getting this complaint. Is it possible the server is misconfigured? Since you're working from Ant, if you can demonstrate that your use case is valid and that there is a vailid reason to be able to turn off the verification, perhaps the Ant FTP task can be revised to take another parameter for this. But that is a matter for Ant.
