Even if the tool support isnt that good today I would like to see the svn migration. I think this is a chicken-egg problem. Why should one devlop good tools if no one use svn and why should one use svn if no good tools are available.
I use svn for my private projects since a couple of months and yes there are things one need to learn to e.g. how to recreate the local repository if your .svn directory is damaged, how to "undelete" a file.
I use IDEA too and I hope the svn support in Irida (current EAP) will getting better. Until this happens i use "esvn" http://esvn.umputun.com/.
