Hi,

I'm working on updating the pages that can be found on the jakarta
commons site (http://jakarta.apache.org/commons) under the "General
Information | Releasing Components" link in the navigation bar.

That information is all very useful stuff, but unfortunately a bit
out-of-date.

I would appreciate it if people could give me feedback on this.

The page I would like feedback on is the "prepare" page.
old version: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/releases/prepare.html
new version: http://people.apache.org/~skitching/prepare.html
Please ignore the "look and feel"; the new page doesn't have access to
the stylesheets. It's the content that needs checking!

In particular:
 * is there an easier way to generate the svn commit info than I've
listed? Or is there a flaw in my description?
 * how can the release manager push a demo webpage to their personal
pages, given that most of the links in the output of
maven site:generate are absolute URLs (it's almost impossible to
navigate around the result without bouncing off to the real site).

Once this is done, I'll move onto the next page...

Thanks,

Simon
