good point. i didn't think that the semantic compatibilities were likely
to have any effect in practice but list of added features is also pretty
long. maybe it looks more like a 0.7...

an additional vote will be needed to upgrade the version so it'll take a
little longer...

opinions anyone?

(i was hoping to have the release cut by now and had hoped to avoid
