I am happy to use the convention of a given file/package/component of
course, but since this is new code, I though I'd give it a go.
I think that we need to be consistent in [io]. This is an unusual
convention (for me) and not one I like. I can understand the purity it
gives, but believe that is greatly outweighed by the clutter for
something that is just a basic aspect of the Java language (ie. this is
the default).
