I guess you already saw, but I tried to document more thoroughly the results of running IO tests using W2K in bugzilla:

From what I can see only question mark against IO actual code (rather than test cases) is against the FileUtils.waitFor() method which, looks like it may have issues under W2K. Since that hasn't changed in this release and the issues are undefined (plus theres a possibility it could be my machine/env.) then IMO I don't think this should necessarily prevent IO 1.2 So +1 from me.
