Here are the options we have. 1. Forget about this method and leave the method as it is 2. Make the getName method as deprecated and add getNamespaceURI which duplicates the functionality of getName method. 3. Completely refactor the name of getName method to getNamespaceURI. I personally do not like #3 as this change might affect all the projects that are using Axiom. Since this is not that critical I prefer #1.
