+1! It would be great if it happens.
It also caused me a lot of troubles to keep up with the transitive
dependencies from axis2 because without maven2 I had to maintain the list
manually in our pom.xml.
Thanks,
Raymond

Subject: Please reconsider switching to Maven 2
Hi,
now that Axis2 1.1 is out, I'd like to ask the commons projects to
reconsider switching to Maven 2 as a build system. The rationale is as
follows:
- AFAIK, the current Maven 1 build scripts do nothing that cannot be done
with
the Maven 2 build scripts. If there are any issues, please let me know.
- Maven 2 builds are typically faster, so developers should be enjoying
it.
- Maintaining the Maven 2 build scripts and deploying a Maven 1
build to a Maven 2
repository is causing me a lot of work.
- On the other hand, deploying a Maven 2 build to a Maven 1
repository can easily
be automated.
Thanks,
Jochen
