Glen, yes we agreed to parse till headers, but that was long time back and later moved back to the current approach and there was a long argument for that, IIRC. The basic argument was, if we do not need to process headers, which might be the case some times, say within Synapse, etc., Or sometimes SOAP envelope itself might be wrong, due to bad namespace. Or one might completely convert the whole SOAP envelope into DOOM, which will be the case when DOOM is engaged. I believe there are arguments for both the approaches. Unless if we want to really really want to change it back, for dead solid reason, I think its better to leave it as it is :) I hope no one will propose to have a switch to select which one to use, dynamically ;) - -- Chinthaka Glen Daniels wrote: > Hi all: > > Currently when someone calls getEnvelope() on StAXSOAPModelBuilder, we > parse ONLY to the <soap:Envelope> startElement, and then return them a > basically empty SOAPEnvelope. > > Shouldn't we be immediately parsing through the end of the SOAP headers, > to ensure that a) the envelope is well-formed at least up to that point, > and b) the SOAPHeaderBlocks are ready to go?
