Just FYI, there was a discussion on the use of IRC on general@ a while ago,
when someone proposed that Apache consider its use more widely. The idea was
fairly strongly rejected, for a number of reasons, among them being the
facts that there is no archive of an IRC chat for others to refer to, and
that it is not possible for people in all corners of the world to
participate in the same conversation.
