Also right on point two, I'm just finishing off cleaning up the class you sent but have to go to work so will finish it off and post an updated patch tonight. Since I'm generally paranoid about legal matters, it would be good to get a copy of that class with the Apache license already at the top of it, since just adding it myself seems a little dodgy. I'm happy to just add it if people are happy with that though.
