I have only one outstanding issue on my hands: deprecation of
URIUtil.toXXXCharset methods.
As far as I remember these methods are not currently used. So they do not harm. We can address this later if necessary. The whole issue seems still a bit unclear to me, but Laura managed to shed some light on the problem. But as I see it the problem is more one of Java's Unicode Strings than one of HttpClient, and we will be unable to solve it.
