Hi, So setting "setUseExpectHeader(true)" and/or "setHttp11(false)" did not work, so will now try to install the latest version of Jetty to see if that fixes the problem.
But using a browser (IE 6.0.2800), same data Post-ed via a form, gets back an instantaneous response just fine. What may be the reasons for IE working just fine whereas the httpclient hanging ? This is a very strange quirk on the part of Jetty, which once was reported as a bug, but Jetty folks were not too enthusiastic to fix. Anyways, try this: PostMethod#setUseExpectHeader(true) and see if that makes any difference. If not, try disabling HTTP/1.1 support altogether: PostMethod#setHttp11(false) If nothing helps, you may have to consider upgrading Jetty to its latest stable version (4.2.12 as of writing).
