How exactly did you measure performance of
HttpMethodBase#getResponseBodyAsString() method? I ran a simple test by
executing HTTP GETs returning a small response body (~4K) in a tight loop in
order to determine the performance increase from having buffer's initial
capacity set to 4K. On the local network with SSL enabled the average response
time is always below 1 ms. How did you arrive at your numbers?
