There is no point in discussing that, it is (and has been) allowed on
Commons. See http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:With_trademark

As has been already said in this discussion, the trademark protection
is not the problem. The copyright status of the trademark is: a logo
can be (and often is) *both* trademarked and copyrighted. That is why
there is that huge red © on
