The Wikidatification is not a tragedy and it has taken a long time before it actually started to happen in a manner that the WMF may adopt. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wikimedia_Commons Remember, the most important part of it all is to make the data usable in multiple languages and to improve finding images in Commons.
